About the Team
Team Wandercraft participated in the Living Assistance Robot Award 2021.
Wandercraft is a French startup founded in 2012. It developed an exoskeleton called Atalante. The robot is designed to be a completely independent walking system for people with motor impairment. The hip, knee, and ankle joints are powered, enabling movement in various ways. Atalante is designed not only to allow static self-balancing, but also to have dynamic gait control. Dynamic walking enables more natural walking.
In 2012, a motorcycle accident left him paralyzed in both lower limbs. After that, he hashad to live in a wheelchair. In order to participate in the Living Assistance Robot Award, he put Atalante on and walked again in an attempt to tackle tasks 1 to 6.
